Peters & Domscheit was founded as a non-trading partnership in 1984. The company processes thermoplastic synthetic materials for air ducts, moulded parts and ventilation components. Additionally, containers, apparatus and specially designed products are manufactured for a wide range of applications. The non-trading partnership was converted into a PLC in 1986. The managing directors are the founders of the company, Bernd Peters and Wolfgang Domscheit. Today, Peters & Domscheit GmbH employs a staff of 14. The business premises are located at Höhscheider Straße 122 in Solingen, Germany. Peters & Domscheit GmbH is an apprenticing company and provides training towards the qualification of Process Engineer for plastic and rubber technology. The company has been certified by the DQS since 1999 compliant to DIN EN ISO 9002. The quality management system has grown over the years due to external controlled by the Technical Control Board of Rheinland since 1990. Principle customers of our products are system/plant, ventilation and mechanical engineers in Germany, the European Union, and beyond. No certification has been carried out by an external certification authority since 2003. Unfortunately, continually increasing costs and the more-or-less non-existent request for certified services make a „Return of Investment“ in this area impossible. Nevertheless, to ensure that the level already reached is maintained or even improved upon, we have decided to continue and expand our own management system.
Profitability and our achieved market position are based on our efforts to manufacture high-quality products that conform to the expectations of our customers. The following elements are used to achieve this:
- Production requires a high level of handicraft and knowledge from our staff, which thereby represent an important cornerstone of the company. A high level of flexibility and readiness for action allow orders to be processed quickly and to the benefit of the customer.
- Use of qualified raw materials and semi-finished products, as well as tools and machines that are suitable for the requirements, are an additional basis in the manufacture of products that meet the requirements of the customer.
- Direct delivery with our own vehicles ensures that the quality
product reaches the customer in perfect condition.
To safeguard and expand and consolidate the position we have achieved, the following management system had been introduced and implemented. Due to considered and practical acquisition and investment, the management thereby creates the basis on which the staff is able to produce quality products based on their efforts and knowledge. Due to these combined efforts, the expectations of the customer should be met on a sustained basis, thereby consolidating and expanding the position of the company. In the short term, we want to tighten the structure of the company with the QM system, and to reduce the resources required. To achieve a continuous improvement to the QM system, a QM evaluation will be made every 12 months. The results of the internal audit are included in the QM evaluation. The evaluation will be written up in a report. The determination and description of the processes and procedures serves this common purpose and supports all of the staff in their actions. A continuous improvement and further development is the wish of all those involved.
Design and handling the manual
Design This Management Manual (MM) describes the management system of Peters & Domscheit, which complies to the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001. A graphical representation of the system is shown on the next page. It should be considered as a binding regulation for all staff and also serves as the basis for internal audits.
A regular check of the measures introduced ensures that they are applied and that they are effective. This management system describes all individual processes that are part of the running of business activities. Responsibilities and duties are described and set in each case. The regulations within the management system apply to all members of staff at Peters & Domscheit.
The manual is designed as a loose-leaf collection to facilitate changes and supplements. All manuals that are issued are numbered and the recipients are registered by the QM appointee in a manual list to ensure that they can be notified in case of revisions. Copies of the manual not subjected to the revision service are only intended for information purposes and are not updated although their recipients are also registered
Manual owners acknowledge receipt of the manual or of the revisions and are responsible for updating their manuals.
